BOARD CARE

If properly taken care of, your Adams Forged Cutting Board will last for generations.  But, what does it mean to properly take care of your new board?  A little attention after every use and the occasional deep cleaning will keep it looking as good as the day you got it!

Water is the ENEMY

I repeat, Water is the Enemy!  Never put your cutting board in the dishwasher.  The water and extreme heat will cause your board to warp and crack, thus destroying your new board forever!

Never leave your board submerged in water. Again, this could cause your board to warp and crack.  If water or other liquids get on your board, just make sure your wipe it off and don't allow the liquid to sit for extended periods of time.

How to clean your board

Soap and water is the best way to clean your board.  Using a sponge and mild dish soap after every use will keep it clean.  Simply wash the board and make sure it is completely dry.  Allow the board to air dry before storing it.

How to DEEP clean your board

I recommend using distilled vinegar to deep clean your board.  Vinegar is also an excellent disinfectant for killing such things as E. Coli, Salmonella, and other household bacteria.

Simply spray your board down with vinegar and let it sit for a few minutes.  Then simply clean your board as instructed above.

Re-Conditioning your board

After DEEP cleaning your board, I recommend you re-condition it.  Doing this will help rehydrate your board and keep it looking beautiful.

Apply a liberal amount of the Adams Forged Board Butter to the board using a clean town to evenly coat all of the surface.  Allow the mixture to dry.  Then simply buff it back using a soft towel or cloth to its nature beauty.

Do Not Use vegetable or nut-based oil on your cutting board.  Those oils will spoil and make your board rancid.  Those oils will also leave your board with an unpleasant odor and will noticeably change the taste of the food you are preparing.
